Three-year-old killed in wall collapse incident in Mangampeta
TIRUPATI: A three-year-old boy, Eswaraiah, has died in a wall collapse incident at Mangampeta Agraharam near Obulavaripalli in Kadapa district on Thursday.
According to information receive, the boy was playing near his house when the wall collapsed unexpectedly with a loud noise, causing panic among the locals. Eswaraiah's family members were shocked to find him motionless beneath the debris.
Following the accident, protests were held at the local AP mining development corporation office by family members and villagers, who claimed the wall had collapsed due to the intensity of blasting carried out by the Mangampeta barytes company. They raised slogans against the barytes management and demanded an investigation into the matter. Other villagers demanded that the victim's family be compensated.
Locals alleged that the indiscriminate blasting at the Mangampeta barytes mining site damaged the majority of the houses in the Agraharam and nearby villages. Local police officers intervened to calm down the agitating villagers.
