Five arrested for gangrape in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Lallauda police of Hyderabad city arrested five persons in connection with a gang rape case reported 10 days ago. Though the police could not track the suspects initially, visuals from the CCTVs helped them to crack the case and to nab the accused.
One of the accused trapped the woman, by offering to drop her at home. He took her to an isolated place and raped her along with his friends, said DCP East Zone Sunil Dutt.
The accused are identified as Barna Yesu, Seetha Madhu Yadav, Sirigiri Prashanth Kumar, Pastham Tharun Kumar and Keshojuva Rohith. They were produced before the court and sent to judicial remand, the DCP added.
According to police, on December 7 night, the woman in her early 30s was going to her home when Yesu saw her. He approached her and offered to drop her home on his scooter.
When she got on the scooter, he rode her to an isolated area near abandoned old railway quarters at Prashanth Nagar.
He also called the other accused, who joined him and all five accused sexually assaulted her. Later, Madhu dropped the woman at Tarnaka.
The woman then approached the police, following which a case was registered under gang rape and kidnap charges.
