Bengaluru: Seventh accused held in BJP leader's murder
Bengaluru: Bengaluru Rural police on Saturday arrested Chandrappa, seventh accused in the murder of BJP leader Srinivas Prasad alias Kithaganahalli Vasu (45). Chandrappa is the uncle of the main accused, Manjunath, who is still absconding.
Manjunath is the son of Sarojamma (Congress) president of Bommasandra municipality, who was arrested a day after the murder along with four other accused – Madhu alias Spike (23), Narayanswamy (35), Murali G. alias Appu (20) and C. Manjunath alias Karpuru (29). On Friday, Hoskote police arrested Satish (29), from Chitradurga district. He was brought to Bengaluru for interrogation.
According to sources, Srinivas was hacked to death over a political rivalry. “The police are on the lookout for Manjunath. They have intensified the hunt,” said an officer.
