Hyderabad: Rs 35 lakh found in tahsildar’s brother’s account
The bribe was meant for uploading documents of the complainant, Ms Mamidipally Bhaskar’s land measuring 9.07 acres.
Hyderabad: The ACB has detected Rs 35 lakh deposited in the name of Hussain Naik, brother to tahsildar V. Lavanya who is facing imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case. The ACB had raided her house last week. The ACB has written to banks to freeze all the bank accounts of Lavanya’s family.
She was booked by the ACB for demanding a bribe of Rs 8 lakh from a farmer through her alleged conduit, village revenue officer M. Antaiah.
The bribe was meant for uploading documents of the complainant, Ms Mamidipally Bhaskar’s land measuring 9.07 acres. The first instalment of the bribe of Rs 4 lakh was collected though Antaiah inside the premises of the tahsildar office at Kondurgu mandal while the second was pending when the ACB laid a trap.
