Hyderabad: A former tech professional identified has been arrested by the Abdullapurmet police on charges of murdering his five-year-old daughter. He has been identified as Chandrashekar.
Inquiries revealed that he resented his wife, a tech industry professional, for choosing to live separately with their daughter for the past eight months.
On Saturday, Chandrashekar picked up his daughter from school and killed her in the car at BHEL under Chandanagar Police Station of Cyberabad. With her body in the car's back seat, Chandrashekar took the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Patancheru and drove towards Abdullapurmet, on the other side of the city outskirts, to dispose of her body.
However, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the median at Koheda. The collision attracted the attention of passersby, who rushed to the scene in a bid to help.
The police also reached the spot and found the lifeless body of a young girl in the back seat of the vehicle. Upon questioning, Chandrashekar confessed to killing his daughter. He told police he committed the crime as he did not want his wife to live happily with their daughter.
On further questioning him, it came to light that the couple were both employed by the same multinational corporation. However, eight months before the incident, Chandrashekar had lost his job while his wife continued working with the same MNC.
He believed that his wife played a role in his job loss and harboured a deep grudge against her, eventually culminating in him committing the crime.
