MANCHERIAL: A private driver hired by the TSRTC allegedly attempted to rape a 21-year-old woman conductor who was on duty alongside him, on October 17.
The Jaipur mandal police in Mancherial district has booked a case under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
The incident took place when they were returning to Mancherial from Chennur. There were no passengers and Srinivas allegedly stopped the bus on the outskirts of Jaipur village and attempted to rape his woman colleague.
Her shouts for help were heard by people nearby who rushed to the bus. The driver started the bus and drive away but police chased the vehicle and took Srinivas into custody.
