Slew of Cases Filed Over Ruckus at Begumpet Garba Event
Hyderabad: The Begumpet Police registered a case against a youth belonging to a particular community for harassing a woman during a Garba event held at the Hockey Grounds in Begumpet. Police also registered a case against Bajrang Dal workers on charges of barging into the event, misbehaving with the organiser and also creating nuisance at the same event held on Monday night.
In the first instance, a 69-year-old man alleged that the man from the particular community approached his granddaughter and asked to play Dandiya with him. When she denied, he continued troubling her and demanded that she share her mobile number and social media details. He further held her hand and misbehaved with her.
He immediately reported it to the police posted at the event. He also alleged that the organisers did not bother about the incident and started playing loud music again from 11.30 pm.
In the second incident, the organiser Kavitha Jain said that when the event was going on, around 40 Bajrang Dal members barged into the event by pushing the bouncers. They not only misbehaved with her but also created nuisance, resulting in some participants getting injured. The whole episode was recorded in the CCTVs on the premises.
Along with the complaint, Kavitha submitted CCTV footage and pictures of those who created ruckus.
Police said they have started a probe into the incidents.
