Hyderabad: The murder of four persons of a family including eight-year-old twins came to light in Kamareddy district on Monday. The parents of the children Prasad and Ramani are missing, and are suspected to have been murdered.
The bodies of the twins Chatrik and Chatrika were found in gunny bags near a culvert in Nizamabad district three days ago. The burnt bodies of Sravani, 26, and Swapna, 21, siblings of Prasad, were found in Sadashivanagar of Kamareddy district and in Medak district respectively.
Prasad’s close friend Prashanth is the prime suspect and is being interrogated. He reportedly admitted to have killed Prasad’s sisters and children during the last nine days, over property that Prasad inherited from his ancestors.
Prasad had approached Prashanth for a loan. Prashanth made Prasad register ancestral property in his name a few months ago but did not provide the loan. Prasad then began asking for the loan amount or return of the property.
This sparked Prashanth’s plan to wipe out the family and usurp their property.
Inquiries revealed that Prashanth first told one of the sisters that Prasad had been arrested. He accompanied her when she set out to meet Prasad, and killed her. Later he accompanied the other sister and killed her. He then told Ramani, Prasad’s wife, a similar story, took their twin children and killed them, the police found.
Police also found leads that Prashanth had killed Prasad and buried the body in Kamareddy district. He took Prasad’s wife Ramani to ostensibly meet him in police custody and killed here on the Nirmal district border and dumped her body in a lake.
