Wife sentenced to life for husband's murder in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The II Additional District Court at LB Nagar sentenced one Mendem Pravallika to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1,000 for killing her husband M. Pullaiah in 2016. The trial against her partner, a minor who is involved in the murder, is pending before the Juvenile Justice Board.
Police said that in September 2016 they had intercepted Pravallika and her partner on suspicion and found that they were carrying Pullaiah’s body stuffed into a gunny bag. Pravallika told police that the boy was her nephew, and they were taking her husband’s body to their native place for final rites.
When questioned about the cause of death, they gave vague answers. The police took custody of the body and registered a case of suspicious death.
Inquiries revealed that Pravallika and the minor boy were in a physical relationship. When Pullaiah objected, they killed him at their house in LB Nagar and were proceeding to dispose of the body.
