Visakhapatnam: Man held for murder of transgender
Visakhapatnam: A man murdered a transgender on suspicion that the hijra was having an affair with someone else and was avoiding him. The incident took place at Neelakantapuram area in Vizianagaram district four days back but came to light on Wednesday when police arrested the accused.
The arrested was identified as B. Srikanth, 20, native of Amudalavalasa town in Srikakulam district while the victim was K. Ramesh alias Ramya, 2), native of Neelakantapuram. Inspector of Elwinpeta K Ramu said that Srikanth was in a live-in-relationship with Ramesh for the past few months. However, Srikanth grew suspicious of Ramya after he found Ramya speaking to some other person. Suspecting that Ramya has developed affair with someone, Srikanth used to squabble with Ramya over the issue.
On July 16, Srikanth came to house and quarrelled with Ramya. As the tempers grew, Srikanth, in a fit of rage, attacked Ramya with a hammer and inflicted multiple injuries. Severely injured Ramya died on the spot and Srikanth fled from the spot. The police arrested Srikanth on Wednesday in Srikakulam district and produced before the court
