UP: 16-yr-old girl dies after allegedly being thrown off moving train
Bareilly: A 16-year-old girl's body was found at the Atamanda railway station here, with her family claiming that she was thrown off a moving train.
Shaheen, belonging to Uttarakhand's Haldwani, had boarded the Lalkaun-Bareilly city express for Bareilly and her body was found at the Atamanda railway station last night, police said.
The body was bearing serious injury marks and has been sent for postmortem, they said.
While Circle Officer Jitendra Singh said the girl died in an accident and was not thrown off, her family has alleged that she was on her way to consult a doctor in Bareilly and there was no chance of her trying to get down the train which could have led to any mishap.
Notably, the train does not have a stoppage at the railway station where Shaheen's body was found.
There have been incidents of eve teasing in trains on the route, the girl's family alleged and maintained that she was thrown off the moving train. A case has been lodged and investigation is on, police added.
