Woman, Paramour Held for Husband\'s Murder in Sullurpet
Tirupati: Sullurpet police have arrested a middle-aged woman and her lover on Thursday for murder of the woman’s husband.
According to police, Jagadish had been married to Chitra for nearly 10 years. They lived in Krishnaveni Nagar of Sullurpet. Their relationship got embittered after Jagadish became an alcoholic and frequently harassed Chitra.
Sources close to the family revealed that Chitra, while enduring her distress, began a relationship with Krishnamurthy, a local bus driver.
As time passed by and her harassment by her husband continued, Chitra hatched a plan to eliminate Jagadish, so that she could live happily with her paramour.
As per their plan, Krishnamurthy lured Jagadish for drinks on Saturday. Once Jagadish got highly intoxicated, Krishnamurthy took him to an isolated area near the national highway. There, he slashed Jagadish’s throat, killing him.
Chitra then lodged a complaint with Sullurpet police, claiming that her husband had left home an argument and has not returned.
Police registered a case. During the course of their investigation, police came to know about Chitra’s relationship with Krishnamurthy. Following interrogation, they confessed to the killing of Jagadish.
