HYDERABAD: A medical shop owner, who the police said claimed himself to be a local BRS leader, was on Monday booked under the Pocso Act and other charges for sexually assaulting a minor in Feelkhana.
The accused Aqheel Ahmed, owner of KGN Medical Shop in Feelkhana, assaulted the minor when she went to his shop to purchase medicines on Sunday around 4.45 pm. Police said Aqheel dragged her into a narrow lane adjacent to his shop and forcibly tried to assault her. Later, the victim returned home crying and told her mother about the assault.
The victim's mother approached Begum Bazaar police and lodged a complaint.
Police registered a case under section 366, 354 IPC 8 read with 10, 12 of
Pocso Act 12 against the accused and are making efforts to arrest him.
