Hyderabad: The wife of Atla Rajashekar Reddy, the main accused in the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) question paper leak case, approached the Telangana High Court on Monday seeking a probe by an independent agency, body or commission, alleging that her husband was being subjected to third-degree treatment by the police.
The petitioner, A. Sucharita, said her husband started limping, as seen in footage telecast on all TV channels, since the police were given custody on March 18. In a writ petition, she sought directions to the SIT to preserve CCTV footage of the interrogation.
However, Justice P. Madhavi Devi refused relief and asked the government counsel A. Santosh Kumar whether the police were following the rules in vogue during the investigation and the directions of the magistrate based on which the accused was presented after being given custody.
The court further said there was no need to pass an urgent order as the jurisdictional magistrate already ordered the SIT to get a medical examination of the accused done, and adjourned the matter.
