Interstate House Burglar Nabbed in TS, Loot Worth Rs 17.85 Lakh Recovered

Hyderabad: A notorious inter-state house burglar, who committed eight house burglaries in the past two months, was arrested by Alwal police. Police seized 27 tolas of gold, 50 tolas of silver and cash of Rs 1.30 lakh, all worth Rs 17.85 lakh from his possession.

The accused Gulab Gangaram Chawan, 36, of Gulbarga district involved in eight property offences under Alwal and Bolarum police station limits. “Gulab had come to city two months ago for medical treatment and was staying in Machabollaram area,” Dr P. Shabarish, DCP (Medchal) said adding that he used to do recce isolated houses near the railways track in the daytime and commit burglary during night. During questioning, he confessed that he had committed house burglaries in Alwal and Bolarum, and apart from that he also involved in 17 house burglaries in Karnataka. A case has been registered.
