Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone, apprehended a man while he was impersonating a police officer of the Intelligence wing, and cheating people on Sunday.
The accused M.V. Ravichandra was nabbed in front of Rekha Residency in Samrat Colony, West Marredpally, on Sunday while in possession of a fake police identity card.
West Zone Task Force inspector B. Gattu Mallu, said Ravichandra had a record. “In August 2015, the accused, along with his car driver Srinu, beat up one G. Rahulkanth after introducing himself as a DSP, to settle scores with the victim. He was lodged in Cherlapally jail for the that offence.”
After being released from prison, he continued to impersonate police officers. He procured a fake identity card with the following details on it: “M. Ravi Chandra, Deputy Superintendent 486, TS Police, ID No. 2018 054819” and used the same to mislead people.”
