HYDERABAD: Justice C. Sumalatha of the Telangana High Court on Thursday granted bail to an accused in a case pertaining to domestic violence and abetment to suicide.
The judge was dealing with a writ plea filed by Gaddam Sagar, a music event manager from New Nallakunta in Hyderabad, and brother of the deceased. He contended that the arrayed accused was the husband of a suicide victim. The petitioner submitted that both were married nine years back and had two children. A domestic dispute turned sour and the wife left the house six months back leaving the children behind.
On December 16, she died by suicide leaving a note. The victim’s father filed a custody petition in the family court which is pending. The prosecution informed the court that all witnesses were examined.
The judge opined that the petitioner had no role to play in the death of the deceased and granted bail with a payment of Rs 50,000 towards the bail bond.
