UP Student Held for Stalking Hyderabad Woman

HYDERABAD: Rachakonda cyber crime police arrested a 23-year-old pharmacy student from Shahjahanpur of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly blackmailing, harassing and threatening a city-based woman on social media.

Police said the accused, Mohit Prathap Kushwaha, pretended to be ‘Aryan,’ a schoolmate of the victim and approached her on Facebook, Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan.

After some time when the victim stopped talking with him, Kushwaha threatened her that he would harm himself. When the victim blocked him, he started to text her friends. He claimed he had nude pictures of the victim which he would release to her family and friends if she did not continue talking with him.

The victim approached the cybercrime police who collected technical evidence through social media, identified the accused and arrested Kushwaha on June 10 and brought him to the city on Thursday.
