Hash oil, ganja seized in three separate instances in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Three people were arrested by the Cyberabad police for transporting hash oil and one litre of the banned substance and a vehicle used for transporting the substance was seized. The accused, Budraj Youtesh Varma, Mamidi Venkata Harikrishna and Sayyad Imran, are all residents of Suraram.
While they started off as consumers of hash oil, they later began supplying it in the city to make a quick buck. They would procure the substance from one Konda Babu of Visakhapatnam, who is currently absconding, and sell it in the city. 230 containers, each containing 5ml of hash oil, was seized from the accused.
In another incident, one Naramnad Praveen Kumar of Borabanda was caught at Sanath Nagar and 70 containers with 5 ml of hash oil each, was seized. Praveen was earlier involved in property offences and ganja smuggling cases.
Task force sleuths also nabbed one Mulkala Bhanu Prakash alias Bhanu, a BPO employee and seized 450 ml of hash oil from him at Mehdipatnam. His supplier Vishnu is absconding.
Meanwhile, sleuths of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Secunderabad division nabbed two persons who deboarded the Hyderabad-bound East Coast Express at Kazipet railway station and 14 packets of ganja, weighing two kilos each and worth nearly Rs28 lakh, was seized.
In 2023, RPF sleuths recovered ganja worth Rs6.79 crore and nabbed 28 people.
