Andhra Pradesh: 16-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour

Visakhapatnam: In a gruesome incident, a sixteen-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by some youngsters who slit his throat and dumped the body wrapped in a plastic sheet in the fishing harbour of Visakhapatnam.

Locals found the body on Friday evening and alerted the police.

The deceased was identified as Mylapalli Chinna, a resident of Bhajanakovila locality in Visakhapatnam city.

Chinna, a school dropout, had been staying with his mother after his father separated from the family a decade ago.

Chinna, along with his friends, went out on September 21 (Thursday) evening and he didn’t return home. His mother searched for him at various places but failed to find him.

Inspector of One Town Police Station L. Revathamma said their preliminary investigation has revealed that some miscreants murdered Chinna over petty issues and dumped the body in the water.

The murder might have taken place on Thursday. She said a team has been deployed to ascertain the exact reasons for the murder and identify the accused.

The police registered a case under section 302 of Indian Police Code and the body was shifted for post-mortem.

The locals said that the murder could be the result of a drunken brawl over money. The accused are also minor boys.
