Auto driver hacked to death by five assailants near Central Silk Board

The driver was waiting for passengers near Central Silk Board auto stand at around 3 am.

Bengaluru: A 30-year-old auto driver was brutally hacked to death by five unidentified men near the Central Silk Board auto stand in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased, Kush, was a resident of Maranahalli in JP Nagar police limits. Kush was in his auto waiting for passengers around 3 am when another auto with five men stopped near his vehicle. The men stepped out of the auto with lethal weapons and launched a merciless attack on Kush.

"The deceased had multiple injuries on his body. The assailants might have come armed with machetes and it seemed to be a pre-planned murder," the police said. Prima facie, it could be a murder over personal rivalry, the police said.

Kush drove his auto only during nights as he worked elsewhere in the morning.

Mico Layout police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered and the police are trying to trace the accused.
