TIRUPATI: In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy fell off from the exit door of a moving train on his way to the toilet. The deceased was identified as E. Rahul Reddy from Kukatpally, Hyderabad, and the incident happened on Venkatadri Express near Pakala Railway Station on Wednesday.
GRP (Government Railway Police) SI Praveen Kumar said the boy was travelling with his grandmother to his mother’s native Pallampalli in Gudipala mandal of Chittoor district when the incident occurred. The boy told his grandmother that he wants to go to the toilet. He walked a distance but lost balance and fell from the exit door of the train which was kept ajar.
Rahul’s grandmother was informed by fellow passengers who in-turn informed the railway protection force. His body was found on the track near Pakala station, and was subsequently shifted to Chittoor government hospital for examination.
Following a post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family members. SI Praveen Kumar registered the case and further investigation is on.
