FIR against Siddaramaiah in 2003 land case
Mysuru: The Lakshmipuram police registered an FIR on Saturday against four people, including former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, for their alleged involvement in an irregularity of land some years ago. Mr Siddaramaiah had purchased the land in 1997 and sold a part of it in 2003. The FIR – No. 0049/2018 – has been filed under Sections 120B, 197, 166, 17, 19, 200, 417 409, 420 and 468 of IPC.
After an RTI activist, N. Gangaraju, filed a private complaint before the court on June 2, the Principal Senior Civil Judge on June 4 directed Lakshmipuram police to investigate the case and submit a status report by July 23 this year. The other accused mentioned in the FIR are MUDA former chairman C. Basavegowda, MUDA chairman D. Dhruvakumar and MUDA Commissioner P.S. Kantharaju .
The case is related to an alleged irregularity involving 30 guntas of land (owned by Saakamma, Sunanda and Annaiah – 10 guntas each), in Vijaynagar second stage in survey number 70/4a. Mr Siddaramaiah had purchased 10 guntas from Saakamma in 1997 and sold it in 2003.
