NIZAMABAD: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a-16-year-old boy near the Bypass Road in Kanteshwer on Friday night. The girl was sent to the government general hospital for medical examination and her condition is stable. Both the victim and accused belong to Rajasthan and came to Nizamabad to make Ganesh idols. Their families have been living in makeshift tents on the Bypass Road.
The accused assaulted the girl when she reached his house to study along with the boy’s sister. Learning about the incident, the girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the police. Police said the accused is absconding. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Nizamabad sub-divisional police officer D. Anand Kumar said they registered a case and that efforts were on to trace the accused at the earliest.
