Forest Officials Attacked by Residents While Tracing Smugglers in Kamareddy
Kamareddy: The residents of Bhattu thanda in Ramareddy mandal on Saturday attacked forest officials when they went there to trace the smugglers of precious metals from the forest area.
Following a complaint lodged by forest section officer B. Shankar, Ramareddy police registered a case regarding the incident on Saturday.
According to sources, the forest officials on August 31 conducted raids on smugglers who were trying to smuggle the precious metals from Machareddy forest area.
On noticing the officials, the accused ran away. After conducting an investigation, the officials collected details and whereabouts of the accused and went to Bhattu thanda to trace them. According to foresters, Mann Singh, Kishore, Vanitha, Lavanya and Lalitha are among those who attacked the officials.
