Karnataka BJP MLA accuses Home Minister of being \"insensitive\"

BENGALURU: The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA M.P. Kumaraswamy on Thursday expressed displeasure over the attitude of Home Minister Araga Jnanedra and accused him of being “insensitive” toward the attack on him by angry mob of villagers at Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru.

He said that the HM lacked courtesy to take first hand information of the attack on an MLA. Kumaraswamy also accused the Inspector General of Police, Western Range, of being a “corrupt” officer.

Kumaraswamy claimed that he was assaulted by an angry mob of villagers at Hullehalli of Mudigere taluk in Chikkamagaluru when he went to console the bereaved family members of Shobha who was trampled to death by a wild Tusker.

He made it clear that he did not file a police complaint over the attack on him and stated “I wanted to see how serious they take an attack on an MLA.” Kumaraswamy told reporters in Bengaluru that the attack on him was being ignored.

The MLA said “I have been elected thrice from Mudigere, a reserved seat for Scheduled Castes, and done enough work for the development of the constituency. I leave it to voters to decide.”
