BENGALURU: The Bengaluru police have arrested two persons in connection with stealing watches worth Rs 57 lakhs. The police personnel have recovered the 1,282 smart watches stolen on January 15 near Subhash Park under Rajarajeshwari police station limits. The accused Syed and Zameer Ahmed, residents of Bapuji Nagar in Bengaluru have been arrested with a stolen smart watches case, police said.
Syed and Zameer Ahmed were travelling in a vehicle which collided with the goods truck in which smart watches were being transported to the warehouse.
After the minor collision, the duo followed the truck and istopped the vehicle near Subhash Park. The accused assaulted the persons accompanying the truck decampigng the boxes of smart watches. The stolen smart watches were dumped in a godown before police recovered them. Rajarajeshwari Nagar police have registered a case.
