Tainted HMDA officer booked again for cheating

He agreed to grant layout permission to the construction company only if they sold the plots for half of the price amount.

Hyderabad: Tainted HMDA officer K. Purushotham Reddy is booked for the fourth time for cheating a builder. The management of GRR Developers informed the ACB that the accused misused his office and bought four plots in their venture for less prices. He agreed to grant layout permission to the construction company only if they sold the plots for half of the price amount.

In a complaint to the sleuths of ACB, the developers said, “To approve layout permission, Mr Reddy demanded four plots measuring to 1,266 square yards at a cheaper price of Rs 3,500 per sq yard. He thus demanded them to sell four plots at the total cost of Rs 25,32,000 instead of the actual market cost of Rs 44,31,000 benefitting him an amount of Rs 18,99,000 . The accused K. Purushotham Reddy paid only Rs 20 lakhs from his ill-gotten money and kept the balance payment. He also kept the registration pending for keeping the transaction concealed.”

The accused officer K. Purushotham Reddy is in judicial custody for the earlier case of disproportionate assets and is under judicial remand till May 1st, 2018. The ACB has appealed to the public to report such cases on the toll-free number of ACB (1064) for taking action as per law.
