VISHAKHAPATNAM: In a gruesome incident, a 16-year-old boy allegedly sexually assaulted a 60-year-old woman in a village under Ravikamatham police station limits in Anakapalle district.
Though the incident took place on Saturday night, it came to light on Sunday morning after the police registered a case. Inspector of Kothakota police circle, Syed Eliyas Mohammed, said that the victim was living alone in the village, and a minor boy lived in the same locality. The boy went to the woman’s residence on Saturday night and sexually assaulted her. Though the victim raised an alarm, the locals didn’t respond immediately since it was raining heavily. Later, the locals noticed and nabbed the accused, alerting the police. The victim became sick due to excessive bleeding and was admitted to the government hospital in Narsipatnam, and from there, she was shifted to King George Hospital in Vizag city for better treatment. The condition of the victim is said to be stable. A case has been registered against the accused, and the boy was sent to a juvenile home. The police said that the minor has committed the crime as pornography has adversely impacted him.
