Belagavi: Belagavi police took two more people into custody in connection with the gangrape of a minor girl, which took place on Belagavi outskirts a few days ago.According to the police, the two were arrested based on information provided by the four accused, who were arrested earlier.The two arrested also confessed to their involvement in several cases related to vehicle thefts in Belagavi and surrounding region in the last few months.
On February 15, while all of them were heading to Mutyanatti on their vehicles, they spotted the girl with her boyfriend at a secluded place atop Kakti hill at 6 pm. They first attacked the boy, tied him to a tree using a rope and started raping the girl.They even recorded the rape in a mobile phone in front of her boyfriend. Later they started making extortion calls to the boy and the girl.The girl, a medical student, was extremely disturbed by the incident and informed her parents about the incident after which a complaint was lodged with Belagavi police.
