MANCHERIAL: A couple was booked for murdering their daughter’s lover, after objecting to their marriage proposal on communal grounds and upon learning that their relationship continued even after she married another man seven months ago.
The victim, Mushke Mahesh, 25, was passing by the house of his girlfriend, Pedapalli Shruthi, 23, when her parents waylaid him, slit his throat and smashed in his head with a boulder around 8.30 am in Indaram of Jaipur mandal in Mancherial on Tuesday.
Police sources said that the woman’s parents were angered as Mahesh had sent intimate photos and videos of him and Shruthi to her husband, which had led to his death by suicide. Following this, the duo resumed their relationship.
After the murder, Mahesh’s mother Rajeshwari filed a complaint against Shruthi, her parents Kanakaiah and Padma, and her siblings Sai and Swetha. The police said they were investigating the incident.
Previously, Shruthi’s parents had filed a police complaint against Mahesh for harassing their daughter, to which his parents also filed a counter-complaint alleging death threats from the couple. Mahesh’s parents faulted the police for not taking their complaint seriously.
