Man Kills Sister for Posting Videos on SM, Held
HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old man, who killed his sister by hitting her with a hard object for posting her reels and videos on social media, was arrested by the Yellandu police in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Wednesday.
The accused was identified as Harilal, a resident of Rajivnagar Thanda, Yellandu mandal of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
Police said Harilal has been arrested and a case was registered under Section 302 (Murder) of the IPC. Harilal wanted to divert the attention of police stating that his sister Ajmeera Sindhu died accidentally by falling on a boulder.
“It was revealed that Harilal killed her by hitting with a hard object after she posted her reels and videos on social media even after he warned her not to post them," the police said after investigation.
Sindhu, who worked as a nurse in a private hospital in Mahbubabad, was active on Instagram and YouTube. Of late, Harilal had an argument with her and asked her to delete the videos, the police said.
"A heated argument ensued between them. In a fit of rage, Harilal hit her on the head. She collapsed and became unconscious. Her condition worsened and she died on her way to the hospital," the police said.
Police arrested him and sent him to judicial remand.
