Hyderabad: Ramati Praveen Kumar, a first-year student of Basar IIIT from the EEE branch, died by suicide in a hostel room on the campus on Sunday afternoon.
In a press note, the RGUKT Basar IIIT claimed that Kumar took the extreme step due to personal problems. He had obtained an out pass in the morning to return to his native place Thudukurthi in Nagarkurnool district to cast his vote.
The note stated that Kumar had breakfast and his body was later found in a vacant BH-II hostel room. His body was moved to the Bhainsa government area hospital for post-mortem.
RGKUT Vice Cancellor Prof. Venkata Ramana expressed shock over the death and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
