Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old woman was allegedly stripped and tortured after her son eloped with a girl from the same village. The victim’s son had eloped with a girl on Sunday.
The incident took place in Lakhimpur Kheri district on Monday evening when the members of the girl’s family stripped the woman, beat her up then blackened her face and threw chilli powder into her private parts.
The woman’s husband called the police that rescued her and got her admitted to a local hospital. Her condition is said to be critical. The girl’s family members maintained that this was a punishment for the woman whose son had run away with their daughter.
