Revenue cop held for 2BHK bribes
Police arrested revenue inspector Ravi who posted as verification officer, Yousufguda circle for cheating over 30 applicants in 2BHK scheme
Hyderabad: A revenue inspector, who cheated over 30 applicants in the 2BHK scheme, was booked by Borabanda police on Saturday.
According to Borabanda inspector K. Ravi Kumar, Nunawat Ravi (35), posted as verification officer of Yousufguda circle, had in the last two days collected'5,000 as ‘verification fees’ from each of 30 residents of Borabanda.
He threatened them with cancellation of allotment of 2BHK units if they failed to pay the amount, Ravi Kumar said.
Based on complaints from Shaheena Begum, Mohammed Munir, Shabana Begum and others, police registered cases of cheating and extortion under section 420, 384 IPC and took the accused for questioning.
