Boy Goes Missing From Nellore Government Hospital

Tirupati: Mysterious disappearance of a four-year-old boy from the premises of Government General Hospital (GGH) in Nellore on December 25 has caused an outrage in the city.

Sunny, a resident of Rama Koti Nagar had been brought to GGH by his mother P. Tirupatamma for treatment of a life-threatening disease.

As per the mother's statement to Darghamitta police, her child went missing around 4 p.m. from the hospital premises, where he and his mother had been staying.

Tirupatamma suspects that her son may have been abducted by some people who had approached her a week ago asking her to hand over Sunny to them.

"A person claiming to be a pastor from Rajahmundry approached me. He asked me to give him my son, so that he can admit him to a hostel and provide education. But I refused. For two days, he kept trying to lure my son away with gifts and food," she stated in her complaint.

Tirupatamma alleged that the pastor has abducted her son with the help of a hospital staff member.

Based on her complaint, Darghamitta circle inspector B.V.B. Subba Rao has registered a case. A search operation has been launched for the missing boy. “We are looking into all angles, including the organised gangs that abduct children,” Subba Rao told Deccan Chronicle.

As per reports, the woman, who had been residing in Rama Koti Nagar with her son and brother, had recently left home due to disputes with her brother. She has since been living on the footpath within the hospital premises.
