Gujarat ATS Detains Four From TS for Links With Terror Outfits
Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) police from Ahmedabad have reportedly detained four suspects, two in Hyderabad and two from Srinagar
colony of Godavarikhani in Peddapalli district on Tuesday. They are suspected to belong to the terror outfits Islamic State — Khorasan
Province (ISKP) and Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT).
In Hyderabad, the ATS detained medical shop owner Mohammed
Faisiullah of Ranjan Colony, Kalapather, and his wife Sameera Banu.
They are reportedly members of the ISKP.
Sources said the ATS would take them to Ahmedabad. Sources said the ISKP and the HuT were linked.
From Godavarikhani, the ATS picked up software trainer Mohammad Javed, 46, and his daughter Khateeja, 26, who were taking shelter there for four days. They were residents of the Golconda fort area in Hyderabad, sources said.
Sources said the ATS team had stated that it had come to record the
statements of two witnesses in a conspiracy and radicalisation case registered against the HuT in May. “We are not aware what case they
came for,” a senior police officer said.
“The case is not related to the city police, we are not aware of what case is. They said that it was confidential, it might be a case of radicalisation,” he said.
