Bengaluru: A 34-year-old married woman’s past is back to haunt her present as her ex-boyfriend has allegedly threatened her and her husband that he would upload her nude photos and videos to websites, if they fail to give him a huge amount.
The distressed woman has now approached the police seeking legal action. Meenakshi (name changed), who got married in 2011, has filed a complaint in a police station in the East division.
According to her complaint, she was in a relationship with one Gaurav Srinivas (name changed), a resident of Pattanagere in BHEL Layout in Rajarajeshwarinagar, before the marriage.
“Before marriage, I was in a relationship with Gaurav. Promising to marry me, he had physical relationship with me from 2006 to 2010,” the woman stated in her complaint.
“During the act, he has taken my obscene photos and videos without my consent. I had cut ties with him after marriage. Of late, he has been contacting me and my husband over the phone and is blackmailing us that he was in possession of my nude photos and videos and he would upload it on several websites and tarnish our image. He has demanded a huge amount,” the woman added.
Based on the complaint, the police have booked Gaurav, who is now 36 years old, under sections 354A (sexual harassment), 354C (voyeurism), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC.
The police are, however, yet to arrest the accused and are in the process of gathering more information about the case and the accused.
