Four, including VRO, arrested for forging collector's signature
Anantapur: Pulivendula Urban police arrested a village revenue officer (VRO), two surveyors and a realtor for creating an NOC involving 35 acres of valuable land by forging the signature of Kadapa collector.
Pulivendula circle inspector K. Raju told media on Tuesday that Utuklur Vidyananda Reddy of Dondlavagu in Lingala mandal of Pulivendula assembly segment lodged a complaint against four persons – VRO Guduru Kalanada Reddy, Lingala mandal surveyors Ankireddypalli Sandeep Reddy and C. Vasudeva Reddy, and realtor Sripathi Sreenivasulu for offering him 35 acres of DKT and dotted lands in Lingala mandal.
Vidyananda Reddy believed and paid them an advance for NOC of the land located in different survey numbers – 99 / 3,99 /1, 2 / 2A, 45 / 2,135, 258 / 2. However, when Vidyananda Reddy checked further, he found that the documents had been fake and the signature of Kadapa collector forged. He then lodged a complaint with Pulivendula Urban police on September 24.
A police team led by CI Raju conducted an investigation and found that the gang had used a computer, printer, stamps of revenue department and other material to prepare the fake documents. Police then arrested the VRO, the two surveyors and the realtor.
Leaders of Telugu Desam in Kadapa district have alleged that YSRC leaders are behind the land scam.
