Kakinada: Eluru One Town police have arrested two persons – Mohammed Nazir (42) and Mohammed Bashir (43) for storing cracker manufacturing material at their house in Eluru on Friday.
Police seized from them 50 kilo of potassium nitrate, 200 skyrockets, 16 yarn packets, half kilo sisindri black powder, two kilo jute twine, seven kilo empty plastic pipes, eight kilo empty paper pipes, four kilo yarn pipes, sis bundles of bamboo sticks, one kilo palm leaf bundles and two machines for manufacturing crackers.
A case has been registered against the two accused under sections 286 and 336 read with34 IPC and section 9 (B) of Explosives Act, 1884.
Eluru One Town circle inspector N. Rajasekhar said stringent action will be taken against those who manufacture crackers or store them illegally. He requested people to provide information in such cases to police by dialling 112, 100, 94497 96604 or 94407 96605.
