Truck with cookers seized by election officials
BENGALURU: A case has been booked against Congress MLA T.D. Rajegowda representing Sringeri Assembly seat in Chikkamagaluru district and also against Krishna Hardware and Electricals of Balehonnur near Sringeri after a truck with cookers and utensils was caught by Flying Squad officials at Kadabahalli Toll Plaza of Nagamangala taluk in Mandya on Tuesday.
The truck was coming from Bengaluru before it was caught by the Flying Squad officials and the truck was intended for Sringeri. The cookers and utensils were allegedly meant to be distributed among voters.
During a search at the Toll Plaza, officials concerned came across a truck (KA 51 AG 4365) full of cookers and utensils and took the driver into custody. Upon interrogation, the driver is said to have revealed the names of Congress MLS T.D. Rajegowda and Krishna Hardware and Electricals to transport the materials in the truck.
Officials seized as many as 932 cookers and utensils to make tea. Bidiganavile police have seized the truck and based on a complaint by the Flying Squad officer H.S. Raju, a case has been registered at the police station.
