67 cases of theft reported during Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Despite a significant police presence during the Ganesh immersion celebrations at the Hussainsagar, 67 cases of pick-pocketing, chain-snatching, and mobile phone theft were reported on Thursday
In the biggest incident, snatchers made away with 20 grams of gold, two mobile phones and Rs 1,500 cash. The victim, 63-year-old Victim Rama Tarakam from Fathenagar, said he and his friends were engrossed in the immersion proceedings when the theft occurred.
Another devotee said, "I lost my phone with all my contacts and memories.”
