DGP Anjani Kumar welcomes death penalty to accused in Mahabubabad murder case

Hyderabad: Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar has welcomed the death sentence awarded to the accused in the Mahbubabad kidnap and murder case. The Mahabubabad District Court awarded the death penalty to Manda Sagar, a mechanic hailing from Shanigapuram village, on Friday. The verdict was ordered by the principal district session's judge P Chandra Shekara Prasad. It was in October 2020, that the accused kidnapped and murdered nine-year-old boy Kusuma Deekshit Reddy. After murdering the boy by strangulating the accused set his body ablaze.

Responding to the death penalty, Anjani Kumar said that it was a great sense of relief that justice is done to the bereaved family. "Telangana Police remains committed to work hard to secure conviction in all sensational cases. Hearty congratulations to Team of Mahbubabad Police under SP Chandra Mohan," he wrote on his X account.
