Police arrest four persons for possessing heroin
Hyderabad: The LB Nagar special operations team and Meerpet police arrested a mobile shop owner, a consumer, and two minors and seized 80 grams of heroin worth Rs 50 lakh from their possession.
The accused was identified as Bhanwar Lal, 24. All four are natives of Rajasthan and were arrested from a rented house in NBT Nagar, Meerpet. They were getting the narcotic from a supplier in Rajasthan. Lal and the two minors were also said to be substance abusers.
Elsewhere, the Maheshwararam SOT along with Ghatkesar police arrested one Subash Bishnoi, 32, a Rajasthan native, for transporting 710 kg of ganja worth Rs 2.25 crore by concealing in secret cabins of a container. The police intercepted the vehicle at the Aushapur toll gate, with Bishnoi at the wheel, D.S. Chauhan, Rachakonda police commissioner, said.
Bishnoi told the police that he had been hired to transport the drugs from Odisha to the city and Maharashtra at Rs 60,000 per consignment, Chauhan said. The driver could not name the supplier.
