Krishnagiri: Man held for killing paramour after fight
Krishnagiri: The love story of a 22-year-old woman went horribly wrong when she fought with her lover for marrying another woman. She was killed and her dead body hanged in the tree to show as if she committed suicide. Her lover was arrested for the murder.
Shoolagiri police of Krishnagiri recovered the dead body of a woman found hanging from the tree, a few days ago. The photo of the dead person sent to other police stations helped in identifying the victim as A.Vennila of Kodumaanapalli village in Thirupathur taluk of Vellore.
Investigations revealed that Vennila worked as a pharmacist in a mobile clinic run by the state. Her call details showed that Vennila was in contact with 24-year-old G. Karunakaran, a cab driver of Ayalampati village, near Poochampalli in Krishnagiri. Karunakaran was traced in Annekal of neighbouring Karnataka.
He admitted to strangling Vennila to death. He allegedly killed Vennila because the victim threatened to inform his wife Punitha about his previous affair with her if the accused refused to marry the girl.
Angry with her threat, he took her to a temple promising to marry her. Later, he strangled her and hung her body from a tree to show that Vennila committed suicide.
