NIA files charge sheet against 11 PFI organisers
HYDERABAD: National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials, who investigated the illegal activities of Popular Front of India (PFI), have filed a chargesheet before the NIA court, accusing 11 persons of organising terror training camps and recruiting people for terrorist activities.
The case was initially registered by Nizamabad police and the NIA re-registered it and took up a probe.
Investigations revealed that the accused were targeting Muslim youth and brainwashing them with speeches that spread hatred against the Union government, other organisations and individuals. Once recruited into the PFI, the youth were sent to training camps under the cloak of yoga and physical education for beginners. However, the training revolved around the use of knife, sickle and iron rods on the sensitive organs and body parts of individuals like the throat, stomach and head and later to carry terror strikes. The accused, charged with criminal conspiracy, promoting enmity under the IPC and under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, include Abdul Khader, Abdul Ahad, Shaik Shadullah, Syed Yahiya Sameer, Shaik Imran, Mohd Abdul Mubeen (all Nizamabad district), Shaik Iliyas Ahmed and Buchi Reddy (Nellore district), Abdul Saleem and Mohammad Osman (both Jagtial), Feroz Khan (Adilabad), and Mohammad Irfan from Karimnagar. The NIA also seized PFI offices and their bank accounts.
