Bengaluru New Year's Tragedy: Software Engineer Falls to Death During Celebration

Bengaluru: In the early hours of Friday morning, 27-year-old software engineer Divyanshu Sharma accidentally fell to his death from the 33rd-floor balcony of a friend's flat in Bhattarahalli near KR Pura, east Bengaluru. The unfortunate incident occurred after a night of celebration in anticipation of the new year. Preliminary investigations revealed that Sharma, who had been partying with three friends, slipped while attempting to dispose of cigarette ash, landing near the walking track of the apartment complex.

Originally from Uttar Pradesh and residing in Kodigehalli, Sharma's father, a retired Indian Air Force employee, lives in Horamavu with other family members. The group, including Sharma and his friends, had initially visited a mall in Whitfield for a movie and later proceeded to a pub in Indiranagar. They returned home around 2.30 am, with Sharma falling asleep in the living room while his friends slept in the bedrooms.

The tragic incident has cast a shadow over the New Year's celebrations, prompting authorities to conduct further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young engineer's untimely demise.
