Hyderabad: An unidentified man molested a woman while she was waiting for a neighbour in front of her house in a narrow bylane, to join her for a morning walk in Bengaluru. The incident was caught on the CCTV camera of a house on the road.
On August 4, a one-minute-long clip went viral on social media. The police tracked down the victim who lodged a complaint and registered an FIR under section 74 (assault or use of criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and section 75 (sexual harassment) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita 2023. The event took place at around 5 am.
A man can be seen approaching her from behind in CCTV footage, taking her by surprise. He then hugged her and molested her. While yelling for assistance, the woman can be seen attempting to get away from his hold. After releasing herself from his hold, she runs away from him. Dogs can also be heard barking. The woman is chased by the man, who then grabs her and tries to stop her screams for assistance. But as she fought back and her calls for help became more audible, the man left the area.

The face of the man is visible on the CCTV camera footage. The police are trying to track down the culprit.
