MP: Murdered woman reappears after 18 months, 4 convicted for her killing serving jail sentence

Bhopal: A 35-year-old woman in a Madhya Pradesh village, presumed murdered 18 months ago, reappeared in her parents’ home a few days ago, leaving her family members stunned and the police on their toes.

Her parents had identified her with physical markings such as a tattoo in hand and a black thread tied in her leg in a mutilated body then.
A murder case was registered in Thandla police station in Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh then.
Four people, Imran, Shahrukh, Sonu and Ejaz were later convicted for her killing by a local court and were currently serving their sentences in jail, according to the police.
According to the police, Lalita walked into the home of her parents in Bhanpura in Mandsaur district a few days ago, much to the joy of her two children and amazement of her other family members.
She appeared in the Gandhi Sagar police station a few days ago and told the police that a case of her murder was registered in Thandla police station, Mandsaur district superintendent of police Abhishek Anand said on Saturday.
All the details of the development have been given to the Jhabua police and her statement would be recorded afresh.
According to the police, Lalit had also produced her Aadhaar card and voter ID card before the Gandhi Sagar police to establish that she is alive.
According to Lalita’s father Ramesh Narayan Banchhad, she was living with Shahrukh for some years.
She was later sold to another Shahrukh in Kota in Rajasthan for Rs five lakh.
She stayed there for around one and half years and escaped from there after getting the first opportunity and reached her parents’ home.
