Rane claims Uddhav twice urged him not to drag Aaditya’s name in Disha Salian case

Mumbai: Senior BJP leader Narayan Rane on Saturday claimed that Uddhav Thackeray had twice requested him not to take Aaditya Thackeray’s name in the Disha Salian case. He also alleged that the police have evidence that Disha was raped and murdered, but still have not made any arrest in the case.
Mr. Rane said after he started raising questions over Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput cases, one day he received a call from Uddhav’s secretary Milind Nervekar. After he received the call, Narvekar handed over the phone to Uddhav, who requested him not to take Aaditya’s name, the former Maharashtra chief minister said.
“The second conversation was also during the Covid period. A permission from the state government for my medical college and hospital in Sindhudurg district was pending. I had called Uddhav in that regard. He told me that I will get the required permission and also urged me not to take Aaditya’s name,” Mr. Rane said.
The BJP leader further said that he never took Aaditya’s name. “I had only said that Disha Salian was gang raped and murder and a minister was involved. I did not take any name. What I said was true. Police have CCTV footage, mobile tower locations and there eyewitnesses. But despite having all the evidence, the police did not take action against anyone,” he said.
Mr. Rane stated that Disha Salian’s father had to approach the Bombay High Court as he had not received justice yet. “He felt the police would not deliver justice, prompting him to seek legal intervention. The parents of Disha Salian were pressurised to make certain statements and not to press charges,” he said.
Earlier this week, Satish Salian, the father of Disha Salian, moved the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh probe into his daughter’s death and FIR against Aaditya Thackeray. He has claimed that his daughter was brutally raped and murdered, and there was a politically-orchestrated cover-up to protect certain influential people.
Disha, who was manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajuput, died on June 8, 2020. At the time, Uddhav Thackeray was the chief minister. Police then registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) case claiming that she died by suicide after jumping from the 14th floor of Galaxy Regent building at Malad.
However, doubts started emerging on her mysterious death as six days after her death, Sushant Singh Rajput was also found dead in his duplex flat at Bandra.
